How to care for your hair extensions
Real human hair extensions last for many months when you look after them. Here is the simple routine we teach every client — washing, brushing, styling, sleeping and maintenance — so your set stays soft, shiny and secure.
Washing
Use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and a nourishing conditioner, and wash less often than you might your own hair. We recommend the Volupropol care range — a propolis-powered shampoo and conditioner that are kind to extensions and scalp. Rinse thoroughly, and never rub or twist the hair.
Brushing
Brush gently with a soft-bristle or loop brush, holding the weft at the root to avoid tugging. Start at the ends and work upwards. Always detangle before washing and before bed.
Heat styling
Because it is real human hair, you can blow-dry, curl and straighten — just use a heat protectant and moderate temperatures to preserve shine and lifespan.
Sleeping and daily wear
Tie hair in a loose braid or low ponytail before sleeping, and consider a silk pillowcase to reduce friction. Clip-ins should be taken out at night; wefts are worn continuously between salon services.
Swimming and sport
Rinse with fresh water after the pool or sea, and tie hair up for vigorous sport. A properly fitted weft stays secure through an active day.
Maintenance and lifespan
Weft extensions are typically re-set every 6–8 weeks as your own hair grows. With correct care, premium human-hair extensions last many months and can often be re-used through more than one fitting. We show you the full routine at your appointment and are always here for a maintenance visit.
